Pledges of Servility are not Patriotic

I'm shocked and amazed by this video. Like most reprehensible filth, it leads in with things that seem very good, very patriotic, very desirable. You really only need the last few seconds to get the real message though: these people are encouraging you to pledge servility to the President. As citizens of a Constitutional Republic, we don't pledge to be servants of any leader as one would in a monarchy or dictatorship. Worse yet, this video was evidently played in a grade school in Utah.

That last couple of seconds makes my stomach hurt. How do they get so many famous people to say such dumb things? Obama's servant?!?! He is our servant! The servant of the people!! AUGH!!
Hey - I heard that Tuesday the kids are going to watch Obama on TV in school. Do you know anything about that?

Hi, Jenny. Yes, President Obama has planned a "first day of school" speech for the kiddos on Tuesday. Supposedly, it's purely "Stay in school, set goals for yourself," etc. Supposedly there will be a full transcript of the speech available the night before. Many parents have called their districts and made it clear: If you play this, your average daily attendance will suffer. So, many districts have opted out of the broadcast. Call your superintendent of schools and find out if your district will be doing the broadcast. I know there's been a pretty nasty cold going around my office, and my child may be sick on Tuesday...
